General Pricing Information

Gardening services typically use both fixed price and hourly rate models; these are based on a variety of factors including distance/time to travel to your property, access restrictions, parking availability and green waste removal but for the benefit of customers considering using my services I want to be as transparent as possible so I have published some typical pricing guidelines for my company below.

A factor of garden services pricing that customers often aren't aware of or don't fully understand is the cost of green waste removal from the property. Local councils charge considerable prices to commercial gardening companies for the responsible tipping of green waste at their sites. 

For example an estate car tipping commercial green waste will pay £75.  A small van will pay £105 and a large van can be anywhere between £400 & £600, then there is the time and fuel taken by your gardener to transport your green waste to the closest commerical tipping facility which is why this element of garden work pricing is an unavoidable cost that is charged for accordingly.  Additionally, business insurance, the cost of buying or hiring equipment, fuel and servicing, income tax, national insurance, pension and labour time all form part of the price customers are charged.

How can customers save money?
Homeowners can save money on year round green waste disposal by taking advantage of the cost effective domestic garden waste wheelie bin service offered by local councils across Hampshire. Green waste bins can be ordered online for a once yearly subscription payment from as little as £40 depending on your location. The bins are usually delivered to your house within 20 days of ordering and instantly provide you with a cost effective way of managing and disposing of garden waste responsibly. Bins are normally collected once a fortnight.

Creating a small composting area in your garden is another great way of saving money on green waste removal and is hugely beneficial to the ongoing health of your garden because your green waste which would ordinarily end up in council tips can be recycled in your own garden to create nutrient rich compost for flower beds, lawns, planters and raised beds so instead of buying it a garden centre you can simply use your own! Autumn/Winter is another great time of year to add leaf debris to your compost ensuring that it gets the right balance of organic green/brown material to create a 1st class compost.

Customers that require a range of different services at their property can take advantage of hourly rate agreements whereby a priority list of items is discussed and agreed upon and I will work through the list of items as quickly and efficiently as possible at my published hourly rate.  Customers who become regular clients both on fixed price services and hourly rate work will always receive priority bookings and will be looked after in every way that a loyal regular customer should be.

Services which fall under hourly rate work include but are not limited to the following items:
