We like to enjoy our gardens when the gloom of winter fades and the British spring finally arrives but keeping on top of it can be a challenge. Busy working lives, shift work, parenting, lack of equipment, injury, mobility issues or just taking things a little slower in later life can all make regular garden care difficult.
Minton Lawn & Garden strives to offer clients a friendly, reliable and trustworthy grass cutting service. Whether it's a one off cut or a fixed price weekly or fortnightly grass cut during the growing season between March - November, I can help.

Regularly cutting grass promotes healthy growth. By controlling the height of the grass, it ensures that the grass and it's roots receive the right balance of sunlight, air and water which helps it grow stronger and more resilient.
The benefit of a regular weekly grass cutting service is not that garden service providers make more money from customers, it is to support the grass health so that it develops a stronger more resilient root system which in turn nurtures a healthier and more lush looking lawn with the added benefit of reducing the space available for weeds and moss to take hold. This is particularly important with typical new build lawns because they don't tend to get the best start in life due to sub standard infill of site earth usually being thrown down and turfed over hastily by developers.
A once monthly or 3 weekly cut during the growing season (whilst appearing to be budget friendly) will stress the lawn because typically customers wish to have their lawns cut short so that it lasts until the next visit but cutting more than 1/3 of the blade length off in each visit can and will cause disease, yellowing, patches and die off (particularly in hot weather). Some service providers may rightly advise against this or refuse to do it on a regular contract for fear of causing long term lawn damage. It is our reputation at stake and we take pride in our lawns & gardens!
Households that do not have a council green waste bin and require green waste to be removed from their property by a garden service provider will be charged more per visit than those that do have a green waste bin due to the excessive prices charged by Hampshire county council commercial waste sites.
Sometimes it is necessary to significantly cut lawns and green spaces back when the garden has gotten away from it's owners so in a garden clearance scenario it is a necessary evil to cut back heavily but overgrown lawns in particular will require some extra help to recover after a cut back especially in hot summer conditions.
Once weekly lawn cutting is by far the most effective way to maintain a healthy lawn, this is an age old proven method in lawn care so don't assume your gardener is using upselling tactics if he or she recommends a weekly cut. A discounted price will usually be made available to customers who opt for once weekly mowing vs fortnightly especially if they also require green waste disposal because there will be less green waste to remove which is a chargeable item.
